New Developments in Iterative Methods for Device Simulation

چکیده
We have investigated the performance of a variety of new algorithms for the solution of large systems of linear equations arising in multi-dimensional numerical device simulation. These algorithms include novel techniques for preconditioning and equation solution that are particularly suited for very ill-conditioned problems where conventional methods fail. In our software implementation, they can be combined in a modular fashion, permitting even an automatic way to solve a particular problem. As most stable algorithm, a special variant of CGS called Bi-CGSTAB, together with a new ILU drop tolerance preconditioned shows particular promise in handling even the worst-case problems.

Unit commitment by a fast and new analytical non-iterative method using IPPD table and “λ-logic” algorithm
Many different methods have been presented to solve unit commitment (UC) problem in literature with different advantages and disadvantages. The need for multiple runs, huge computational burden and time, and poor convergence are some of the disadvantages, where are especially considerable in large scale systems. In this paper, a new analytical and non-iterative method is presented to solve UC p...
متن کاملFast Simulation Algorithms for RF
RF integrated circuit designers make extensive use of simulation tools which perform nonlinear periodic steady-state analysis and its extensions. However, the computational costs of these simulation tools have restricted users from examining the detailed behavior of complete RF subsystems. Recent algorithmic developments , based on matrix-implicit iterative methods, is rapidly changing this sit...
متن کاملIterative learning identification and control for dynamic systems described by NARMAX model
A new iterative learning controller is proposed for a general unknown discrete time-varying nonlinear non-affine system represented by NARMAX (Nonlinear Autoregressive Moving Average with eXogenous inputs) model. The proposed controller is composed of an iterative learning neural identifier and an iterative learning controller. Iterative learning control and iterative learning identification ar...

New iterative methods with seventh-order convergence for solving nonlinear equations
In this paper, seventh-order iterative methods for the solution ofnonlinear equations are presented. The new iterative methods are developed byusing weight function method and using an approximation for the last derivative, which reduces the required number of functional evaluations per step. Severalexamples are given to illustrate the eciency and the performance of the newiterative methods.
